The incidence of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related dementias is expected to increase substantially in Montana over the coming years. Currently, there are over 20,000 Montanans with dementia; the number is expected to increase with about 1,000 new Montanans diagnosed with dementia each year.
Family and professional caregivers need education and tools to care for individuals with dementia. Individuals with dementia need information so they can stay engaged in their community and be involved in decisions about their future.
The conference will promote early detection, behavior management, end of life care planning, caregiving and the prevention of dementia. The conference consists of national speakers and continuing education credit is available for a variety of healthcare professions.
